SARASOTA — Scott Zelniker and Jason Hughes of UBS Financial Services have joined forces to form The Zelniker Dorfman Heritage Group.

The combined team manages nearly $1 billion of client assets, according to a press release. It will be based out of Sarasota.

“We believe we are better together,” says Zelniker, who divided his time between New York and Florida for the past 15 years and now calls the region home, in a statement. “Jason and I take each client’s well-being personally as if we were advising our own families.”

The group’s concierge service model includes investment solutions, asset management, private banking, tailored lending, estate planning, philanthropy and liquidity options for clients, the release adds.

“I'm excited to offer the added experience and knowledge that Scott has earned from working in Manhattan,” says Hughes in the statement. "What separates us from other financial advisors in our industry is our commitment to working together with our clients' tax advisors and attorneys to ensure we are all working in concert to serve our clients.”

Hughes is a first vice president of wealth management at UBS and co-founder of The Heritage Group in Sarasota along with his partner, Justin Leins. Hughes joined UBS in 2012.

Zelniker began his career in financial services in 1992 and joined UBS in 2016. He and his partner Peter Dorfman developed a practice of working with private business owners with a focus on exit planning, asset management, estate planning and meeting the multigenerational needs of families.
