The Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa in Bonita Springs opened a $7.1 million water park Friday.
The water park comes on top of a $4.1 million renovation to meeting rooms and ballrooms that was completed earlier this year.
The new water park, which adds another acre to the hotel's existing two-acre pool area, also makes Hyatt Regency Coconut Point's complex one of the largest resort poolscapes in Florida, according to a release. The park includes a trio of three-story waterslides with two speed slides and one inner-tube slide, for a total of 900 feet of slides. There's also a 1,095-foot heated lazy river, the release adds.
The lazy river and its dining and relaxation areas were designed by EDSA architects and built by Manhattan Construction. The water park is open exclusively to registered hotel guests.
“The addition of this exhilarating water experience allows us to deliver a unique destination for both families and groups that leverages our year-round tropical climate,” says resort general manager Brian Kramer in the release. “We knew that visitors already enjoyed our engaging pool area, so we wanted to expand on that idea and take it to the next level to create a one-of-a-kind experience on the west coast of Florida.”
The AAA Four Diamond Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa is a TripAdvisor “Hall of Fame” resort with 454 rooms. The property has a golf course; a 19,000-square-foot spa; and more than 85,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space, in addition to the water park and several restaurants.
