Resort builds $7.1M water park

The Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa in Bonita Springs opened a $7.1 million water park Friday.

The water park comes on top of a $4.1 million renovation to meeting rooms and ballrooms that was completed earlier this year.

The new water park, which adds another acre to the hotel's existing two-acre pool area, also makes Hyatt Regency Coconut Point's complex one of the largest resort poolscapes in Florida, according to a release. The park includes a trio of three-story waterslides with two speed slides and one inner-tube slide, for a total of 900 feet of slides. There's also a 1,095-foot heated lazy river, the release adds.
