TAMPA — NorthMarq Capital, a Minneapolis-based commercial real estate firm that provides debt and equity financing, has promoted Cody Mizelle to vice president in its Tampa office.

In his new role, Mizelle will place both debt and equity capital and join the company’s Associate Producer program, which launched in 2013 and focuses on “bringing a new generation of talent to the ranks of producers,” according to a statement. The company says the program benefits executives by training them through in-house experts.

Mizelle will work under NorthMarq Managing Director Lee Weaver, who joined the company in 2003 as part of an acquisition of Baltimore-based Legg Mason Real Estate Services and was promoted to co-lead the company’s Tampa operation in early 2019.

“Cody has worked hard since joining our Tampa office in 2017 and has been a vital component of our production team,” Weaver says, in a statement.

“He is a conscientious team player, whose tireless work ethic has gained him the favor of our most prestigious clients.

The associate producer program will allow Mizelle to “hone his mortgage banking skills alongside his peers,” Weaver adds.

Since joining NorthMarq four years ago from Cardinal Bank and Vesta Equity, Mizelle has arranged more than $600 million worth of financing.

Founded 60 years ago, NorthMarq today generates annual transaction volume of roughly $16 billion and has a loan servicing portfolio of more than $64 billion.
