National insurance provider names new president

Rick Leonard has been with Sunz for nearly 10 years.

BRADENTON — Sunz Holdings LLC has named Rick Leonard president of the company.

Leonard has been with Bradenton-based Sunz, a national provider of workers’ compensation insurance, for nearly 10 years, according to a press release. He was formerly director of sales and executive vice president. 

Leonard initially joined the company has broker relations executive and was quickly promoted to director of sales, the release adds. Leonard’s background includes retail broker experience, field sales, marketing, loss control and client relations. He has more than 18 years of experience in the insurance industry.  

“Rick is a proven leader with clear and unmistakable leadership qualities, including attributes such as strong moral character, positivity, loyalty, empathy, professionalism, humility, knowledge, and a tireless work ethic,” says CEO Steven Herrig in the statement. “Rick’s enormous impact on the turnaround and rise of SUNZ is immeasurable.”

Sunz Holdings has over 350 employees. It reported $375.24 million in revenue in 2018. Sunz Insurance provides large deductible workers' compensation insurance and insurance services to professional employer organizations, staffing companies and large employers. 

“This is an exciting move for me, and I’m looking forward to taking everything I’ve learned during my career and using it for the continued strategic growth of the company,” says Leonard in the statement.
