LAKEWOOD RANCH — M/I Homes recently appointed Joe Fontana as president of the Sarasota division, based in Lakewood Ranch.
Fontana has more than 20 years of experience in the homebuilding industry, including experience as a division president for various homebuilders, according to a statement.
“It’s an exciting time for the homebuilding industry,” Fontana says in the release. “M/I Homes has an incredible reputation when it comes to high-quality home construction, and I’m already extremely impressed by the team in Sarasota and looking forward to what we will do together in the region.”
Fontana’s experience includes overseeing growth of division revenue, unit volume and profit. In his 13 years at Ryland Homes, he oversaw operations for the West Coast of Florida through the management of site acquisition, sales, marketing, production, finance and customer relations, the release states.
Previously, Fontana was president of the Tampa Bay Builders Association and was named the TBBA Builder of the Year in 2014. He was also recently appointed to the Manatee-Sarasota Building Industry Association board.
M/I Homes is based in Columbus, Ohio, and is one of the largest single-family homebuilders in the nation.
