Interior designer earns rare industry certification

Carmen Ho of Studio + is one of only five Certified Healthcare Interior Designers in the state.

FORT MYERS — Carmen Ho, a quality manager and interior designer with  Studio+, is now one of only five Certified Healthcare Interior Designers in Florida. She recently passed the American Academy of Healthcare Interior Designers Examination to earn her CHID certificate.

A minimum of three years of health care interior design experience, a portfolio review and professional references are prerequisites for examination eligibility, according to a statement. The CHID exam requires examinees to demonstrate competence in a variety of aspects that affect the health care interior environment. This includes acute care, ambulatory care/outpatient, long term care/senior living, medical facilities, retail/hospitality, support services, allied professions, codes and guidelines, environmental, evidence-based design and professional business practice, the release adds.
