A Dallas industrial developer has bought 73.66 acres of property in Auburndale and plans to build two facilities totaling 896,400 square feet.
Dalfen Industrial did not disclose how much it paid for the property which is near Lakeland and has frontage along Interstate 4 nor the cost of the project.
Marketing material shared by a spokesperson shows that the two buildings are slated to go along State Road 559 next to an existing Amazon facility. One building, which sits directly facing I-4, is named Auburndale 200 and will consist of 474,600 square feet. The second, Auburndale 100, will be 422,199 square feet.
Auburndale 100 will have 36-foot ceilings and 68 dock doors as well as 386 parking spaces for standard vehicles and 83 for trailers.
As for Auburndale 200, it will also have 36-foot ceilings, but its dock door count is higher, 116, as are the number of parking space for standard vehicles, 217. It will have less trailer parking, however, with 76 spaces.
Tyler McElroy, Dalfen’s southeast director of development, says “location in one of the top logistics corridors in Florida coupled with a strong labor pool make this an ideal development” for the company.
Dalfen, according to its website, owns and operates about 44 million square feet of space in 22 states. It owns 22 properties in Florida.
Construction is expected to be complete early next year.
