TAMPA — Moffitt Cancer Center has hired a new facilities and support services vice president to oversee its growing business operations, food and environmental services, transportation, security and emergency management departments.
Terrence Wright brings more than 30 years of health care facilities management experience to the job at Moffitt, the Tampa-based cancer center says in a press release.
As vice president of facilities and support services, Wright also will oversee quality integration, safety protocols and help lead the institution in its “rapid expansion throughout the Tampa Bay area.”
“We are confident that Terrence will bring a wealth of knowledge to Moffitt that will be crucial in our continuing expansion,” says Jane Fusilero, vice president and chief nursing officer, in the statement.
“He has extensive experience in health care facilities and has overseen millions of dollars in facility projects. We’re excited to watch Moffitt’s facility and support services grow and develop under Terrence’s leadership.”
Prior to joining Moffitt, Wright was the director of facilities management and construction at Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, Illinois. He also previously worked in facility, design and construction roles within the health care sector, where he managed a portfolio of projects in excess of $1 billion.
Wright “has a demonstrated record in cost improvement, strategic planning, patient satisfaction and enhancing facility operations,” Moffitt says.

“I look forward to developing Moffitt’s world-class facility operations and making a significant impact in our ability to offer this care to more cancer patients.”
Moffitt is in the midst of a $400 million expansion in the Tampa Bay area, an investment that will result in a new 192-bed hospital and other facilities on and around the University of South Florida campus, in Tampa.
That 500,000-square-foot project is expected to be completed in 2023. Moffitt’s last major construction project was completed in 2015, when it built the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation Outpatient Center.
Moffitt is ranked as the No. 11 cancer hospital nationally.
