Edgewater in Babcock Ranch will have 166 single-family homes with premium lake and preserve views.

BABCOCK RANCH — National builder Pulte Homes recently announced it will build a new gated community in Babcock Ranch, a master-planned community in Lee and Charlotte counties billed as America’s first solar-powered town.

The community, named Edgewater, will have 166 single-family homes with premium lake and preserve views, according to a statement. Built along the shores of Lake Timber, the 74-acre neighborhood will offer Babcock Ranch-exclusive one- and two-story homes on 42-, 52- and 66-foot-wide homesites, the release adds.

Edgewater at Babcock Ranch will be a gated community that features its own private amenity center with a resort-style pool, cabana and fire pit, along with outdoor space.

“Pulte’s Life Tested home designs and high building standards have resonated with Babcock Ranch homebuyers, resulting in robust sales within the Parkside, Lake Timber and Lake Babcock neighborhoods,” says Richard McCormick, president of PulteGroup’s Southwest Florida Division, in the release. “Edgewater will appeal to homebuyers seeking Pulte-quality homes at an attractive price point in a gated, niche location with spectacular water and preview views within Babcock Ranch.”

Models in Edgewater are expected to break ground in December and the community is scheduled to open in Spring 2020.

Pulte Homes is a national brand of PulteGroup Inc.
