WINTER HAVEN — 3B Medical Inc., a maker and distributor of products used to treat infections and sleep and breathing disorders, has named Tom Pontzius president, effective immediately.
According to a news release, Pontzius has more than 35 years of experience in health care manufacturing and distribution. He most recently worked at Philips, the multinational conglomerate that makes everything from electric toothbrushes and shavers to light bulbs, where he led the company’s industry affairs and business development department.
“Tom’s leadership, knowledge of the industry and strategic thinking will allow 3B Medical to continue to grow and achieve its objectives,” 3B Medical founder Alex Lucio states in the release. “His patient and customer-first approach align well with 3B Medical’s mission. Adding valuable knowledge around chronic diseases and treatment, along with his proven ability to build scale, allows 3B Medical to continue to build on its fast-growing businesses. We look forward to Tom’s leadership in continuing to build a world-class organization.”
Pontzius, the release states, has a long track record of working with a wide variety of medical industry clients, including hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and home health care providers.
