Homebuilder plans 500 new residence in Naples community

National homebuilder M/I Homes has bought several hundred lots in a Naples master planned community where it plans to build more than 500 new residences.

The properties are in two neighborhoods in the Brightshore development, which is being built by the Barron Collier Cos. northwest of the intersection of Immokalee Road and Everglades Boulevard.

The lots are in the community’s Radiance and Sunward neighborhoods and plans call for a mix of paired villas and single-family homes.

A spokesperson for M/I Homes did not disclose what the home builder paid for the lots but says 213 of the lots are in Radiance and 313 are in Sunward.

Plans call for 135 single family homes and 78 paired villas to be built in Radiance, according to a statement. Prices are expected to start in the low $400,000 range.

The statement does not provide as much details about the plans for Sunward. It says M/I Homes plans more than 300 residences for the neighborhood, including 140 paired villas and “a collection” of single-family homes. Prices for those are expected to start in the high $300,000 range.

The residences across both neighborhoods are expected to range from about 1,486 square feet to 3,759 square feet.

Construction is expected to begin in March with the model units opening August, the spokesperson says.

M/I Homes will be one of five homebuilders within Brightshore along with Pulte Homes, Toll Brothers, Christopher Alan Homes and Taylor Morrison.

The Columbus, Ohio-based builder currently operates in 17 markets nationwide, including Fort Myers, Sarasota and Tampa.
