$2.3B bank names Polk County market president

Crews Bank & Trust has promoted John Laurent to area president for Polk County, putting the longtime local banker in charge of the company’s operations in the Lakeland and Winter Haven markets.

Laurent has worked for Crews Bank since January 2017, when he joined the company as a business banker. He was promoted to commercial banker in October 2019 and has spent nearly a decade developing relationships with customers and businesses across Polk County, the bank says. 

“John’s promotion reflects his commitment to our customers, our teams and the communities we serve in Polk County,” Chief Banking Officer M.W. “Larry” McLaren IV says in the announcement “His varied background in banking, proven ability to learn, adapt and grow personally and professionally, along with his deep local roots, have readied him for this next step in his career.”

Laurent says he plans to continue serving the bank’s personal and business customers alongside its local teams.

“Serving customers well starts with listening, understanding their goals and being a trusted resource as they make important financial decisions,” says Laurent, a seventh-generation Floridian born in Lakeland, in the announcement. 

Crews Bank & Trust has 19 branches across central and Southwest Florida and $2.3 billion in assets.
