Clearwater Beach’s newest beachfront luxury resort has opened three new restaurants along its scenic, winding Beach Walk promenade, a Tuesday announcement says.
Lolita’s Coastal Cocina, Float Malt Shop & Creamery and Beach Market are open to the public inside the street level of the Opal Sol resort — the latest all-suite offering from hotelier Opal Collection.
Located at 400 Coronado Drive in Clearwater Beach, the new concepts offer resort guests and the public everything from waterfront Mexican dining and tequila cocktails to ice cream, coffee and grab-and-go meals.
Lolita’s Coastal Cocina pairs Mexican culinary traditions with Florida’s coastal flavors, the resort says. Modeled after the original Lolitas location at the Opal Key West Resort and Marina, the menu includes shareable plates, street tacos, bowls and entrees such as Grouper a la Veracruzana and Lolita’s Carne Platter.
Open daily from 11 a.m. to midnight, the restaurant’s bar offers cocktails and a selection of tequilas and mezcals, the announcement says.
For a sweeter fix, the Float Malt Shop & Creamery puts a contemporary spin on the classic neighborhood malt shop, the resort says. Handcrafted shakes and malts, ice cream by the scoop, floats and playful sundaes are served daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Signature desserts include the Tropical Explosion and Beach Brownie Mudslide.
Opal Sol’s Beach Market caters to those beachgoers and resort guests on the move who are looking for a quick meal. Open daily, from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., the market-style restaurant offers a selection of fresh grab-and-go fare, including breakfast and lunch sandwiches and fresh salads. Baristas also serve a selection of specialty coffees and smoothies, like Beach Market’s signature Dragonberry Crunch.
The three new openings sit at the base of the Opal Sol, which opened on Valentine’s Day 2025 as a sister property to the older Opal Sands building. Connected by a glass-enclosed skyway, the two resorts now offer a combined 10 dining options, like the Mediterranean-inspired restaurant Drift. Guests can also enjoy four outdoor pools and hot tubs, two full-service Opal Spas and beach access from either property.
Opal Collection operates 31 luxury hotels and resorts across the east coast, from Bar Harbor, Maine to the southernmost tip of Key West. The collection of beachfront resorts, boutique lodges and historic inns are primarily located in Florida and New England, according to the Opal Collection website. The luxury portfolio is managed by Ocean Properties Hotels Resorts & Affiliates, based in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
