Breeze Airways is adding three new routes at two airports in the region as part of an expansion effort. A new domestic flight is coming to Southwest Florida International Airport in October, followed by two new international flights at Tampa International Airport this December.

RSW will offer nonstop service between Fort Myers and Atlantic City International Airport starting Oct. 22. The route will operate Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

TPA will begin nonstop service to Saint Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, on Wednesdays and Saturdays starting Dec. 19. Also on that date, the Tampa airport will launch nonstop service to Cancun, Mexico, on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

“We're continuing to grow where the demand is — and we're just getting started,” Breeze Airways founder and CEO David Neeleman says in a statement.

News of the expansion comes as Breeze this week begins service out of the Atlantic City Airport, where it is now the largest carrier with seven destinations; as it introduces flights to Saint Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; and as it prepares for its fifth anniversary as a company.

“In 2021, Breeze took flight with a handful of routes and big plans to deliver affordable, elevated service between underserved cities,” Neeleman says. “Launching service to the U.S. Virgin Islands on the cusp of our five-year anniversary speaks to how far Breeze has come in that time.”

Currently, Breeze operates more than 300 routes to 88 cities in the United States, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean.
