Eisenhower Property Group has purchased more than 3,500 acres in eastern Pasco County and plans to build 2,500 homes on the property.
The Tampa-based developer announced Friday it had closed on the property and that the homes will be part of a new master-planned community named Verona.
EPG did not disclose what it paid for the land, which is off State Road 52 and west of Interstate 75 in the San Antonio area. Developers called the spot one of the “fastest-growing corridors” in the region.
“Pasco County continues to be one of Florida’s most dynamic growth corridors, and Verona is an exciting next chapter in that story,” Jeffery Hills, President of Eisenhower Property Group, says in the release. “Our goal is to create a community that strengthens local connections and supports the area’s momentum.”
Of Verona’s 2,500 homes, more than 850 will be built by national developer Del Webb under its Explore brand. Known for creating resort-style 55-plus communities, the developer’s Explore by Del Webb brand offers the same amenities without the age requirement.
Additional builders will be named later this year, with home sales slated to begin in late 2027.
“We are incredibly excited to announce the second Explore by Del Webb community in the state of Florida coming soon to Verona”, Sean Strickler, West Florida Division President of PulteGroup says in the release. “
While the property spans more than 3,500 acres the community itself will occupy approximately 1,500 acres, the release says. The remaining acreage will be preserved as open space, agricultural or recreational under a Restrictive Covenant with Pasco County, preserving “long-term environmental balance,” the release says.
Verona will offer numerous amenities, including a central clubhouse, resort-style pool, pickleball courts, a gym, picnic areas, a dog park and playground all interconnected by multi-use paths.
Verona marks EPG’s second master‑planned community along State Road 52. Homebuilders including Perry Homes, Lennar, Taylor Morrison and Dream Finder Homes recently started selling at Hillcrest, located at State Road 52 and Bellamy Brothers Road, just east of the Verona site.
Founded in 2004 by Hills, EPG now boasts more than 25,000 residential lots under development across dozens of communities.
