Preppy, American heritage fashion designer and lifestyle brand Ralph Lauren is back in Tampa.
A new Ralph Lauren boutique officially opened its doors this week in the Hyde Park Village shopping district, according to a release. The new 2,300-square-foot space is located at 1609 W. Snow Ave., in between the Buddy Brew coffee shop and women’s fashion retailer J. McLaughlin.
According to the company, the new Ralph Lauren store carries a combination of clothing from both the men’s and women’s Polo Ralph Lauren line, as well as its two, high-end luxury collections: Ralph Lauren’s Women’s Collection and Men’s Purple Label.
It’s the only Ralph Lauren store located in the Tampa Bay area, according to the company, but it’s not the first time the iconic fashion designer has come to the region. Ralph Lauren was one of the first retailers in Hyde Park Village after the upscale, outdoor shopping district opened in 1985. That location closed in the 1990s, though, as retail shifted before the shopping center’s revitalization.
Now, the only other area stores under the broader Ralph Lauren Corp. umbrella are two Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Stores inside Tampa Bay’s outlet malls — Tampa Premium Outlets and Ellenton Premium Outlets.
Ralph Lauren now occupies a space that sat vacant for more than a year, according to the release. It was originally the home of Hyde Park’s Wine Exchange, which closed in 2023 and was replaced by women’s clothing store Silvia Tcherassi.
Boston-based WS Development has owned Hyde Park Village since 2013.
