Naples home inspection company expands into Midwest

A Naples-based home inspection company is expanding its footprint into the Midwest. Joe the Home Pro Home Inspections, founded in 2015 by hotel sales executive-turned-entrepreneur Joe Nugent, is expanding its national licensing program into Indiana.

The company has added Gary Berquist, who will operate Joe the Home Pro in South Central Indiana. Berquist is a longtime business owner and consultant with more than 40 years of experience in the hospitality industry.

"After spending my career building businesses centered on exceptional customer service, this opportunity allows me to combine my passion for helping people with a trusted brand that’s committed to doing things the right way," Berquist says in a statement. “I’m excited to bring Joe the Home Pro to Indiana and provide the level of service and professionalism homeowners deserve."

Berquist plans to serve Indianapolis, Columbus, Bloomington, Jeffersonville, Seymour, Scottsburg, New Albany, Madison, Carmel, Noblesville, Franklin and surrounding communities in Indiana. Berquist’s business will provide comprehensive home inspections backed by the Joe the Home Pro brand and operating system.

Joe the Home Pro’s licensee program provides entrepreneurs with tools, training and support to launch and grow a successful home inspection business under an established brand. Licensees receive onboarding, coaching, marketing resources, business development support, a personalized website, certification assistance and access to a network of fellow licensees, according to the statement. Through the program, licensees retain 100% ownership of their business, unlike a traditional franchise model.

Nugent told the Business Observer in 2025 he was planning a national expansion of the brand but wanted to be sure he found the right people for the job.

Joe the Home Pro Home Inspections is a multi-inspector and full-service home inspection company whose Florida service area runs from Marco Island to Punta Gorda. The company provides an array of inspection services, including general inspection, four-point inspection, wind mitigation, mold and air quality testing, radon testing, termite/wood-destroying organism evaluations and advanced drone inspections, among others.
