Feld Entertainment signs 10-year Disney contract

Manatee County-based Feld Entertainment has signed a 10-year contract with The Walt Disney Co. to produce Disney On Ice. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Through the partnership, The Walt Disney Co. licenses its characters and stories to Feld Entertainment, which brings them to life through the production and global touring of Disney On Ice. Feld’s creative team writes the storylines, composes the music and designs and produces the costumes, sets and props. Then, its figure skaters perform the shows for audiences around the world.

“Feld Entertainment is the largest employer of professional figure skaters in the world, currently employing approximately 400 figure skaters from across the globe,” a Feld spokesperson says.

Feld is also the longest-standing licensee of The Walt Disney Co., having produced Disney On Ice for 45 years. The 10-year contract is the longest extension in the history of Disney On Ice, a Feld spokesperson says.

Since 1981, Disney On Ice has entertained more than 350 million people in 577 cities across 80 countries, sharing Disney stories in 41 languages.
