A private dining club under development in Sarasota has selected a financing partner. Backing 1000 North Sarasota will be First Horizon Bank.
Expected to open in late 2025, 1000 North Sarasota will offer a members-only fine dining experience and wine attic lounge. Selecting a financing partner will help advance construction of the club, according to a statement. First Horizon did not immediately provide information regarding how much financing it was providing for the project.
"As a community-focused bank, we are thrilled to be part of bringing 1000 NORTH Sarasota to life,” First Horizon Bank Commercial Banker Rich Hopper says in a statement. "This project is not only creating an exclusive retreat, but a community asset."
Located at the corner of Boulevard of the Arts and North Tamiami Trail, 1000 North Sarasota will serve prime steaks, fresh seafood and seasonal local ingredients. Creative appetizers, salads and desserts will also be available, along with cocktails, beer and an extensive wine collection in a state-of-the-art wine room stocked with rare and premier vintages.
“The developer's commitment to hiring locally, sourcing from regional suppliers and implementing sustainable practices is in alignment with our lending priorities,” Hopper says. “The projected creation of nearly 40 new jobs makes this investment a win-win for our local Sarasota economy.”
The Sarasota club will be modeled after and is associated with 1000 North, a private dining club in Palm Beach County that has celebrity backing. Founding partners of 1000 North include former New York Giants player Tucker Frederickson, golf legend Ernie Els, basketball icon Michael Jordan, wine industry leader Bill Terlato and publisher of Wine Spectator Marvin Shanken.
1000 North Managing Partner Ira Fenton is creating 1000 North Sarasota in collaboration with Sarasota-based developer Kevin Daves, whose portfolio includes The Concession Golf Club near Lakewood Ranch and The Ritz-Carlton Hotel and Residences in Sarasota, according to the statement.
"Securing financing with First Horizon Bank is more than a financial step — it's a vote of confidence in the 1000 NORTH brand and what it represents," Daves, who is president of Core Development, says in the statement. "We're creating something Sarasota hasn't seen before: a refined, private experience where hospitality, cuisine and culture come together in one extraordinary setting that is simply the best."
1000 North Sarasota will be in the BLVD building at 520 N. Tamiami Trail.
First Horizon Bank is a subsidiary of First Horizon Corporation, a Memphis-headquartered regional financial services company with $81.5 billion in assets as of March 31.
