A Sarasota-based dental service organization has acquired a Brandon periodontics practice in a move officials say will expand the company's geographic footprint and specialties.
Parkview Dental Partners recently completed the acquisition of Dr. Douglas Wendt Jr.’s periodontics practice. As part of the deal, Wendt, who founded the business in Hillsborough County, will transition the practice to Dr. Ken Ross, a periodontist with more than 25 years of experience on the west coast of Florida. The practice will be renamed Ross and Wendt, Periodontics and Dental Implants, according to a statement.
"I've had the privilege of serving this community for many years, and I'm incredibly proud of the practice we've built," Wendt says in the statement. ”I'm confident that Dr. Ross and the team at Parkview Dental will continue to lead the practice and build upon the strong foundation we've established."
Parkview Dental Partners is a dental growth and management partnership founded by dentists that provides services like insurance and billing, HR, practice management and marketing, among others. It partners with general dentists and specialty clinicians to provide operational support.
With the acquisition in Brandon, Parkview Dental Partners now has 25 practices on the Gulf Coast.
"This acquisition reflects our commitment to increasing the breadth of Parkview's services and providing better, more fulsome patient care to the west coast of Florida," Parkview CEO Rene Sauerteig says in a statement.
Parkview Dental Partners is supported by Cathay Capital, a global private equity and venture capital investment firm that helps middle-market health care, technology and consumer companies navigate opportunities for growth.
