After a year of renovations, a Publix in Bradenton has reopened. The Bayshore Gardens Publix at 6030 14th St. W. opened on July 19.

The store spans 54,964 square feet within the Bayshore Gardens shopping center, which also contains TJ Maxx and Target.

Larger now than it was before, the Bradenton Publix includes a deli with more than 200 artisan cheeses from around the world; produce and floral department; scratch bakery; meat department featuring custom cuts and ready-to-cook items; seafood department as well as sushi; and a full-service pharmacy with drive-thru. Adjacent to the store is Publix Liquors, which sells beer, wine, spirits, soft drinks and accessories.

“We are excited to welcome customers back to their Bayshore Gardens Publix,” Publix Media Relations Manager Hannah Herring says in a statement. “We hope existing and new customers will enjoy the larger store format, quality products and friendly faces.”

To celebrate the 95th anniversary of Publix, the grocery store handed out reusable bags denoting the milestone to the first 95 customers in line at the grand opening.

Founded in 1930 in Winter Haven, Publix has grown to more than 1,400 locations across Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In Florida alone, Publix has nearly 900 stores. The company has more than 260,000 employees and is one of the 10 largest-volume supermarket chains in the country. In 2024, Publix reached $59.7 billion in retail sales.
