Iron EagleX, a veteran-owned cybersecurity firm based in Tampa, was acquired by General Dynamics Information Technology, a business unit of General Dynamics based in Reston, Virginia.
Iron EagleX was founded in 2017 by CEO Michael Grochol and has 17 offices around the country and one in Germany.The company focuses on AI, cloud computing and software development.
“This acquisition demonstrates GDIT’s continued commitment to accelerate innovation for our customers,” says Amy Gilliland, GDIT’s president in a statement. “Iron EagleX joining GDIT will provide our special operations forces and intelligence customers with broader capabilities, skills and expertise from both businesses while offering employees greater opportunities for growth and mobility.”
The acquisition is part of GDIT’s investment strategy, which includes investments in AI, cyber, software development and quantum technologies. Hundreds of security cleared employees will join GDIT’s workforce of 28,000 as part of this acquisition.
GDIT is a business unit of General Dynamics, a global aerospace and defense company that provides products and services in business aviation, ship construction and repair, land combat vehicles, weapons systems and munitions and technology products and services. As one of the largest military services companies in the world, General Dynamics employs more than 100,000 people worldwide and generated $42.3 billion in revenue in 2023.
