More than a dozen companies on Florida’s Gulf Coast are among the top 543 places to work in the country, according to Inc. The magazine released its Best Workplaces of 2024 list recently, which included employers from Tampa to Naples that connect with their employees in a variety of ways.

IT services firm Source 1 Solutions of Clearwater delivers lunch to its workers participating in “lunch and learn” training sessions, which are also recorded for reference.

AccountingDepartment.com of Naples, which offers bookkeeping services for entrepreneurs, has a 100% remote workforce but makes its members feel a part of the culture by starting all its meetings with “water cooler chats,” according to Inc. It also encourages employees to take personal time and offers free PTO for participating in philanthropic causes.

S-One Holdings of Sarasota, which focuses on the digital imaging industry, provides employees with enrichment through its continuing education program S-One University and offers CliftonStrengths testing so employees can learn about themselves.

Here are the Gulf Coast companies that made Inc.’s Best Workplaces of 2024 list:

  • AccountingDepartment.com of Naples
  • Aimpoint Digital of Sarasota
  • Chomps of Naples
  • CoVar Transportation of Lutz
  • EMS Consulting of Tampa
  • FloodGate Medical of Tampa
  • Funnel of Odessa
  • GH LABB of Tampa
  • ReEmployAbility of Brandon
  • ReliaQuest of Tampa
  • S-One Holdings of Sarasota
  • Signature Athletics of Tampa

Companies had to apply to get on the list, providing information like when they were founded and how many employees they had.

Then HR technology company Quantum Workplace compiled the benefits offered by each company and surveyed employees to see how engaged they were with their work, their team and their company. To make the best workplaces list, companies had to get a minimum score on benefits and employee surveys. As far as benefits, all the companies on the best workplaces list offer health insurance, according to Inc.

For quality control, Inc.'s research team conducted a vetting process to ensure companies on the list did not have an "unsavory history," according to the magazine, which says as an example that a business could not be subject to allegations of fraud.

To make the list, companies must be independent and not subsidiaries, have less than $1 billion in annual revenue, have at least five employees, and have been in business at least two years, among other qualifications.

In total, 35 companies in Florida made Inc.’s Best Workplaces of 2024 list.
