Concertium, a Tampa-based cybersecurity and IT services firm, appointed Robert Atherton as CEO.

Concertium officials say the appointment comes as the company is growing and the industry is seeing record demand, "as the need for corporate IT management, security and compliance services has never been greater," the company says in a Wednesday news release.

In his role as CEO, Atherton will lead the company's growth and expansion efforts to meet the increasing market demand, company officials say. Concertium says it recently expanded its portfolio of security and compliance services, created a new dedicated security operations team, and is also expanding its customer service, sales and marketing teams to provide additional support.

"Digital transformation is driving the market demand for managed IT, security and compliance services, and I look forward to scaling up our services and sales channels as we continue to grow and expand," says Atherton.

Atherton has more than 25 years of industry experience spanning IT operations, development, services and sales leadership roles, Concertium says. He is "known for his focus on customer success and go-to-market strategy. … (He) will play a critical role as the company gears up for more growth and expansion in the coming year."

Prior to joining Concertium, Atherton served as the national vice president for sales and revenue generation at Visual Edge IT, a national seller of office equipment, managed IT services and managed security. He served as president and managing partner of Zymphony Technology Solutions, an IT company.

Concertium says Atherton played a key role in the integration of Zymphony Technology Solutions after it was acquired by Visual Edge IT.

Concertium, with 31 employees, says it focuses on mid-sized and larger-sized businesses as a "complete cybersecurity and IT Partner" to achieve a compliant, secure business environment as the clients continue upon their IT and digital transformations.

The company says that as there are a record number of corporate data breaches, disruptive ransomware attacks, and increasing "and often duplicative" federal and state regulations, it plays a critical role in helping companies manage increasingly complex attack plans and "to remediate sophisticated cyber attacks quickly and effectively if and when they occur."

Concertium also helps clients report "increasingly complex reporting requirements."

Concertium has been named part of the "nc. 5000 America's Fastest Growing Private Companies.
