An app for an Italian appetite? A Tampa restaurant company says it's got one.

Tampa-based Carrabba's Italian Grill says it will give away free dessert if you download its new mobile app and will also offer exclusive benefits through its wireless menu. The free dessert for downloading with any adult entree through Sunday, Dec. 3.

The restaurant industry has often used apps for online ordering and deliveries. But Carrabba's app does more than allow ordering for pickup and delivery, the company says. Carrabba's says guests will be able to get seats faster.

The app also offers benefits and rewards for diners.

And downloaders will also get RSVPs to exclusive events. The Bloomin' Brands-owned subsidiary says app users will "get first-in-line access to Carrabba's monthly wine dinners, spirit-pairing dinners and more."

The next event is the "Caymus Wine Dinner," a chef-crafted experience paired with some of the best wines from the Wagner family on Tuesday, Dec. 5, the restaurant chain says, and "A Feast of the Seven Fishes Wine Dinner" on Wednesday, Dec. 20. Carrabba's says people should RSVP as soon as possible to reserve a spot to either event.

On the app, Carrabba's officials say, the menus are up to date and will reflect local menus and specials.

The app also offers a loyalty program to earn rewards. And users will be able to "order with ease." The app allows "easy" customization options plus reorder favorites, the chain says.

"The Carrabba's app was designed to make it easier than ever for guests to dine with us," says Bronze R. Major, marketing head for Carrabba's Italian Grill says in the statement. "We've added a number of features to enhance the Carrabba's experience whether guests are dining in the restaurant, (or) ordering carryout or delivery."

Carrabba's is owned by Bloomin' Brands, the Tampa-based, publicly traded owner of Outback Steakhouse, Bonefish Grill, Carrabba's, Aussie Grill and Fleming's Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar. Bloomin' Brands has 1,450 stores globally. Bloomin posted $4.42 billion in revenue in 2022.
