Global call center giant Alta Resources unveiled its new $27.6 million building at Skyplex in Fort Myers in a May 9 ceremony.

The 98,000-square-foot building, which spans three floors and can accommodate more than 1,000 employees, was made possible, in part, through a partnership and coordination with Lee County and Lee County Port Authority, according to a statement. The Neenah, Wisconsin-based company is hiring 350-400 new employees for the Fort Myers office, a hiring process already underway.

“We’re thrilled to be in our new building, which provides employee-friendly spaces and plenty of room as we continue to expand our Fort Myers workforce,” Alta Resources Chairman and CEO Jim Beré says in the release. “In the 10 years since we came to Fort Myers, we’ve experienced tremendous success, thanks in large part to the dedicated team members we’ve been able to employ from this region.”

Construction on the building, on a 12.1-acre site Alta leased from the Port Authority.began in 2019. The Skyplex location near the Interstate 75 and Daniels Parkway corridor serves as “an ideal central location for Alta Resources employees, who commute from different areas of Southwest Florida,” the release states, Employees have the option of working remotely or in the office, officials say, and the company has found approximately 50% still choose to work in the office — the most of any of its locations worldwide.

Alta Resources opened its Fort Myers location in 2013 and has since grown from one client and 300 seasonal employees to more than 700 full- and part-time employees. Those employees, the company says, “provide support for its globally recognized clients in the automotive, insurance, entertainment, consumer packaged goods and sports apparel industries, such as Stellantis and Kellogg Co.”

Founded in 1995, Alta provides customer-management business-process outsourcing for many of the world’s best-known brands in a variety of industries, including retail, consumer-packaged goods, health care, entertainment, automotive and sports apparel. In addition to its headquarters and Fort Myers, it has offices in Brea, California, Pasig City, Philippines and Belize City, Belize.
