Without a pause to take a breath, Benderson Development is at it again with the acquisition of two Trader Joe’s locations.

The University Park-based real estate company’s announcement comes mere days after acquiring the Bee Ridge Square shopping center in Sarasota for $14.4 million. The Trader Joe’s stores are located in Columbia, South Carolina, and Asheville, North Carolina.

Trader Joe's is a U.S. grocery store chain with 560 stores. It's known for its low prices and unique food offerings.

A request to Benderson for the acquisition price was unreturned.

In recent years, Benderson has been growing its portfolio through acquisitions, and now has over 800 properties across 40 states.

It acquired the former Café Baci restaurant, on U.S. 41 and Bee Ridge Road, for $2.8 million in late March. The company closed on the Bee Ridge Square shopping center, at Bee Ridge and Cattlemen roads, on April 28.
