Retirement community names new CEO after 18 years

Jeff Weatherhead will step into the position in late June.

After nearly 18 years, the CEO of Plymouth Harbor on Sarasota Bay is retiring. 

Harry Hobson has been with the retirement community since 2004. Jeff Weatherhead will succeed Hobson as the president and CEO beginning June 20, according to a statement.

The community is home to roughly 300 residents, to whom it provides various levels of care including independent living, assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing.

Since 2014, Weatherhead has been with Aldersgate Life Plan Services in North Carolina, where he is currently serving as the COO. Prior to that he was the executive director for Westminster Shores in St. Petersburg, Westminster Woods in Jacksonville and Mason Christian Village in Ohio.

In the news release, Weatherhead describes the opportunity with Plymouth Harbor as “a once in a lifetime opportunity that I have been working toward my entire career.”
