The past couple months were pretty good for one Tampa commercial real estate brokerage.

The Ross Realty Group reported five big sales in April and May totaling more than $20 million.

While big investment firms loudly proclaim $100 million deals, Ross quietly went about its business selling a travel park, office building, former church and a strip of land that can be used for commercial or residential.

The first, and biggest, of the deals, was two buildings off of Westshore in South Tampa that brought $8 million. The properties are at 5415 Mariner St. and 5420 Bay Center Drive. The 2.84-acre plot will be redeveloped into 277 apartments, a parking garage and retail space. Ross represented the seller. The deal closed May 3.

In New Port Richey, Ross sold the former St. Andrews Presbyterian Church on U.S. Highway 19 S. for $2.6 million. The church will remain a place of worship. The buyer was St. Verena Coptic Orthodox Church. St. Verena, according to Ross, plans to maintain the property as a church and school. Ross represented the seller. The deal closed May 24.

South of the church in Palmetto, the firm sold 2.39-acres at 1355 U.S Highway 19 for $290,000. The property has 590 feet of frontage along the road and the buyer is planning to improve the site with a new development. Ross represented the seller. The deal closed April 27.

Back in Tampa, Ross sold the Frontier Travel Park at 13212 N. Nebraska Ave. for $2.85 million. The park has 80 lots for trailers and RV rentals and 14 cottages. Hillsborough County, according to Ross, approved it for commercial use. The new owner is planning improvements to the park, including the residences. Ross represented the seller. The sale closed April 19.

Last but not least, the firm sold the Bank of America Financial Center at 9385 N. 56th St. in Temple Terrace for $5.5 million. The 29,106-square-foot office building is anchored by the bank branch. The buyer is planning an extensive renovation of the property. Ross represented the seller. The sale closed April 14.

These weren’t the firms’ only sales the past few months, of course. Among the deals, there was a small Pinellas Park multifamily property that sold for $840,000 and a shopping plaza in Clearwater that brought $1.05 million.

The Ross Realty Group has been in Tampa for about 30 years.
