Airport soars in new traffic data report

Passenger traffic and aircraft operations on the rise in Fort Myers.

FORT MYERS — The high-flying passenger traffic data continues to roll in at Southwest Florida International Airport.

The latest report shows that 1,044,816 passengers traveled through the airport, under the call letters RSW, in January. That’s up 52% over January 2021.

The RSW traffic leader in January was Delta with 203,417 total passenger, according to a statement. Rounding out the top five airlines were Southwest (185,554), American (135,889), United (133,114) and Spirit (118,586).

Southwest Florida International Airport had 10,243 aircraft operations in January, an increase of 19% over January 2021. Page Field saw 13,421 operations, an 18% increase over January 2021

Southwest Florida International Airport served more than 10.3 million passengers in 2021 and is one of the top 50 U.S. airports for passenger traffic. No ad valorem (property) taxes are used for airport operation or construction.
