Avelo Airlines is expanding its nonstop route offerings at Southwest Florida International Airport, adding flights from Fort Myers to Kalamazoo and Lansing, Michigan, and Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina.

Nonstop service to Raleigh/Durham will operate three times weekly starting Nov. 10, while the pair of Michigan flights will operate twice weekly starting Nov. 11. This will be the first time the airport, under the call letters RSW, will have nonstop flights to Kalamazoo, according to a statement. Avelo operates a fleet of Next Generation 737-700 aircraft, the release adds.

“We continue to show our commitment to RSW and with these three new routes,” Avelo Airlines Chair and CEO Andrew Levy says in the release. “These routes will not only allow Southwest Florida residents the opportunity to visit new destinations not currently flown from RSW but will also allow more people to visit Fort Myers and its surrounding areas and contribute to economic spending. With Avelo’s affordable and convenient fares, it’s the best way to continue to inspire travel.”

The new routes bring Avelo’s total number of cities from RSW to four, joining Tweed-New Haven Airport in Connecticut. “We are extremely pleased to see Avelo expanding their network in Southwest Florida and giving more travel options to our community,” RSW Executive Director Ben Siegel says in the release.
