Scooter’s Coffee, an Omaha, Nebraska-based chain that operates 450 drive-thru cafes in 23 states, has partnered with multiple Gulf Coast franchisees who will bring the brand to Englewood and Riverview. The expansion comes on the heels of Minnesota-based Caribou Coffee’s announcement that it had entered the Florida market via a deal with franchisees based in the Tampa Bay region.

Becky Vinton and her fiancé, Joe Jeanette, according to a news release, have inked a three-unit franchise agreement with Scooter’s. The couple hails from Omaha but have a second home in Venice and plan to open their first Scooter’s cafe in Englewood, where their parents reside.

“Englewood, Florida, shows great promise for Scooter’s Coffee,” states Kelly Crummer, Scooter’s Coffee’s senior director of franchise recruitment, in the release. “We know there are many entrepreneurs who are looking for the right opportunity to run a successful business. With the Scooter’s Coffee model, driven, business-minded people like Becky Vinton and Joe Jeanette can achieve their goals.”

In Riverview, franchisees Angela and Jamie Bastian plan to develop and operate three Scooter’s Coffee cafes. Jamie Bastian, the release states, sold his property management business prior to signing on with Scooter’s.

“We had a friend who sang praises about Scooter’s Coffee, so we did some research and discovered the company had so much potential,” Angela Bastian states in the release. “The business model, how the company is run and their core values were all very intriguing to us.”
