Call center giant makes progress on $21M office project

Alta Resources expects to open its new facility in early 2022.

FORT MYERS — Global call center giant Alta Resources has made significant progress on a new, $21 million facility it’s building in Fort Myers. 

With 12 offices and 4,000 employees worldwide, Neenah, Wisconsin-based Alta supports Fortune 500 companies in in the automotive, insurance, entertainment and sports apparel industries in a variety of outsourcing back-office tasks, including sales, customer care and fulfillment. It first opened a Lee County office in 2013, and has since grown to have some 600 full-time and part-time employees. The company announced its new office plans in May 2019, locating in the Skyplex commercial development just south of Southwest Florida International Airport and mile from its current space, in the Gateway community in east Fort Myers.

In June, three-story walls were erected to reinforce the 97,600-square-foot building, according to a statement. Plans for the new building include state-of-the-art workspaces, an auditorium, concession/catered cafe, game room, landscaped half-mile walkway and more. The building, expected to be completed in February 2022, has been “intentionally designed to promote employee engagement, provide innovative technologies to build customer loyalty and enable Alta’s team to solve complex challenges for the world’s largest brands,” the release states.

“Through a close collaboration with our facilities team and our construction engineering partner, Burns & McDonnell, we have designed something that truly reflects our culture and will support the continued demand for service from our Florida site,” Alta Resources CFO Heather Owen Nigl says in the release. “The project has been a wonderful experience.” 

 “This site’s success is a true testament to the talented and diverse workforce that the Lee County area has to offer,” adds Alta Resources Chairman and CEO Jim Beré. “We are thrilled to add another building in Fort Myers and create even more jobs with opportunities for career growth.”

In addition to its Wisconsin headquarters and fulfillment center Alta Resources has additional locations in Brea, California, Manila, Philippines, Belize City, Belize, and Mexico City, Mexico. It was founded in 1995.
