TAMPA — Chill Bros. Ice Cream is opening a new shop.

The local ice cream maker is opening Dec. 3 in the Epicurean Hotel at 1207 S. Howard Ave. The company already has two other shops in the area — Ybor City and South Tampa.

Chill Bros. is run by the Chillura family — Patton, Maximilian, Hadley and Nash — who make their all-natural ice cream from scratch.

To incorporate the shop’s “signature laid-back vibe,” the sidewalk of the shop will be lined with white tables and blue Chill Bros. umbrellas, according to a statement announcing the opening date. Inside, work by muralist Chad Mize “will bring the interior to life with an array of colorful characters."

The hotel will also house a new Chill Bros. production facility and the pastry and ice cream kitchen will be visible from the hotel shop and Howard Avenue.

The food-focused hotel is owned by Tampa-based Mainsail Lodging. It developed the Epicurean Hotel in conjunction with the famed Bern’s Steak House. It was the first-ever newly constructed hotel in the U.S. to be named a Marriott Autograph Collection property.

In addition to the new Chill Bros. shop, the hotel, which is the Hyde Park district of South Tampa, features Epicurean Theatre, a culinary classroom, the restaurant Élevage SoHo Kitchen & Bar, EDGE Rooftop Cocktail Lounge and Bern’s Fine Wines & Spirits wine shop.
