TAMPA — Cameron Mitchell Restaurants, which operates Ocean Prime Tampa, is bringing another one of its restaurant concepts, The Pearl, to Water Street Tampa, the $3 billion, 50-acre mixed-use development that’s transforming downtown Tampa.

The Pearl is a restaurant, tavern and oyster room that offers made-from-scratch entrees, shareable plates and seasonal oysters complemented by handcrafted cocktails, a carefully curated wine list and a rotating selection of ales, lagers and stouts.

According to a news release, the eatery will open next year in The Heron, a luxury apartment building. CMR also has The Pearl restaurants in Columbus and Dublin, Ohio.

“We are thrilled to bring The Pearl to Water Street Tampa and to join the exciting new growth that’s taking place in the area,” CMR founder and CEO Cameron Mitchell states in the release. “We have been incredibly successful with Ocean Prime Tampa since opening in 2009 at International Plaza and look forward to continuing to deliver genuine hospitality and creating amazing experiences for our guests at The Pearl as well.”

Founded in 1993, CMR operates 39 restaurants company-wide under 18 different concepts, with 20 restaurants located in Columbus, Ohio.
