ESTERO — Verdana Village, a new master-planned development in fast-growing Estero, has announced that Publix will anchor the forthcoming shopping center in the community, The Shoppes at Verdana Village.

WMG Development, national real estate investment and development company, will oversee The Shoppes at Verdana Village, according to a statement. When completed, The Shoppes at Verdana Village will encompass over 78,000 square feet of grocery, retail, medical and dining and will have additional outparcels for lease, the release adds.

Estero-based Cameratta Cos., a full-service, leading real estate development company, is developing Verdana Village. The community is planned for 2,400 single-family homes on a variety of homesites with lake and preserve views. Homes, priced from the low $300,000s, are being built by Lennar and Pulte Homes. The community is six miles east of Interstate 75 along Corkscrew Road, making it perfectly positioned for the area’s growth.

“We are excited to be working with WMG Development to bring a much anticipated Publix Super Market to our new community,” Cameratta Cos. COO Nick Cameratta says in the statement. “The Shoppes at Verdana Village will be a great draw for our residents and the surrounding area.”

The new Publix and adjacent Publix Liquor store will occupy approximately 49,500 square feet of the development, with 15,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space divided among two buildings available for lease, the release states. Publix will be joined by Heartland Dental and other tenants working through lease negotiations.

“We are honored to work with Cameratta Cos. and Publix Supermarkets on the project. The communities developed by Cameratta Cos. along Corkscrew Road have set a high standard of living and we are excited to carry that standard forward at The Shoppes at Verdana Village” says Craig Kopko, Senior Director of Development at WMG Development, in the statement.

With offices in Illinois and Winter Garden, outside Orlando, WMG develops commercial real estate projects for a variety of industry segments, including retail, health care and restaurants. WMG Development is currently in 33 states and has more than 58 active projects.
