Airport announces new nonstop flights to Germany

FORT MYERS — The Lufthansa Group, through its Eurowings Discover airline, has announced it will debut weekly nonstop flights to Germany in 2022 from Southwest Florida International Airport.

The flights, from RSW in Fort Myers to Frankfurt, under the call letters, FRA, will begin in March 2022, according to a statement from the Lee County Port Authority. There will be three flights a week.

Eurowings Discover, according to a separate statement from the Lufthansa Group, is a new airline that “specializes in tourist travel from the Frankfurt and Munich hubs.” In addition to Fort Myers, the airline also announced flights from Frankfurt to Panama City in Central America and Salt Lake City in the United States.
