FORT MYERS — Seagate Development Group has purchased 9.71 acres for $2.7 million, a parcel that will be used to build a new facility for White Cap Construction Supply.
Seagate, according to a statement, bought the site from Harvey Youngquist for $2,760,615. Derek Bornhorst at Lee & Associates represented the buyer, while Gary Fluharty at B.I.G. LLC represented the seller, the release adds.
Seagate officials previously announced the White Cap facility project. The 45,000-square-foot facility for the national building materials supplier, at 16542 Oriole Road, will be next to the upcoming Alico Trade Center. The trade center, also being built by Seagate, will have pad site leasing and sales by Lee & Associates, the release states.
The White Cap facility will include office space, an open-area conference room and a break room, a showroom and a 32,990-square-foot warehouse. An 18,000-square-foot steel fabrication building will feature an overhead crane and steel-bending machines, the release states. PDS Architecture is the architect.
“When we design and build any commercial building, particularly one that is in such an in-demand location, we maximize that location with an equally in-demand functionality of every square inch of that space,” Seagate Development CEO and Partner Matt Price says in the release. “Seagate’s relationship with White Cap, coupled with a passion for this process, will contribute to dozens of local jobs and a move in the right direction for a national company on a regional scale.”
Seagate was scheduled to break ground on the White Cap project in May and complete it in the fourth quarter.
Seagate is a full-service development company specializing in a design-build process via new construction, custom renovations, interior design and management and leasing services. The White Cap project is one of several Seagate is working on in Southwest Florida. Others include NeoGenomics’ $60 million global headquarters and Scotlynn USA Division Inc.’s 60,000-square-foot headquarters.
