Foundation appoints new top financial officer

Wendy Ponting is relocating to the area from Milwaukee.

NAPLES — The Community Foundation of Collier County named Wendy Ponting CFO.

Her primary role will be to provide executive leadership, vision, and strategic oversight for the Foundation’s overall operating, financial, and administrative activities, according to a statement. She will also offer investment management oversight and work actively with the Investment Committee to develop investment policy and asset allocation.

Ponting spent 23 years with the Greater Milwaukee Foundation, starting

in 1998 as an accountant and advancing to Vice President of Finance and Controller. Ponting replaces the foundation’s former CFO, Lisette Holmes, who has moved into a financial analyst role, a new position at the foundation.

“We are so happy to have Wendy join our team,” Foundation President and CEO Eileen Connolly-Keesler says in the release. “Her many years of community foundation experience are invaluable and will assure that we continue to adhere to the highest standards of sound investing, effective grant-making and building the capacity of Collier County nonprofit agencies.”

The Community Foundation of Collier County is a tax-exempt, public, charitable organization established in 1985 to increase and focus on local private philanthropy. It manages more than 750 funds, collaborates with hundreds of nonprofits, holds over $280 million in assets and has distributed over $212 million in grants to nonprofit organizations and community programs.
