Ensurem, an insurance broker, insuretech firm and multicarrier insurance brokerage that helps those in or approaching retirement optimize their health care spending, plans to open a major operation in Port Richey.
The company intends to convert 10,000 square feet of retail space just off U.S. Highway 19 into offices that at full capacity will house 200 employees with salaries that are at least 156% of Pasco County’s average county wage, according to a statement. Ensurem will invest $500,000 into office equipment and tenant improvements into its new space, adds the release, from the Pasco Economic Development Council.
“We’re proud to be a part of Pasco’s economic growth,” says Ensurem CEO Dave Rich in the statement, adding that he looks forward to be able to “onboard even more exceptional Pasco talent.”
Between 2017 and 2019, Ensurem grew by nearly 246,000% and was among the firms in the entire Tampa Bay region with the greatest revenue growth.
“Ensurem’s new location is a ‘win-win’ for west Pasco,” says Pasco EDC President and CEO Bill Cronin in the statement. “The project helps repurpose long vacant retail space while bringing high-wage employment opportunity to residents in the area. The company is rapidly growing, and people are taking notice; we are thrilled they chose Pasco County for their third location and can’t wait to continue building our relationship with them.”
Ensurem offers a range of Medicare plans, including prescription, vision, dental, hospital indemnity and final expense insurance. The company has nearly 100 licensed insurance agents available.
Pasco County Commissioner Jack Mariano says the company’s decision represents a victory for the western section of the county. “The county has numerous initiatives to help bolster the west side of the county and a large economic development project like this shows we are moving in the right direction,” Mariano says in the release.
Ensurem posted $19.68 million in revenue in 2019, up 314.3% from $4.75 million in 2018.
