SARASOTA — Gecko's Hospitality Group's new venture, Tripletail Seafood & Spirits, is now hiring for 50 hospitality jobs.
Tripletail Seafood & Spirits will open at The Landings in Sarasota at the site of Gecko's Hospitality Group's original Gecko’s Grill & Pub, founded in 1992.
The 50 new hospitality jobs are being created in anticipation of Tripletail’s opening in early February. The team will be led by General Manager Meagan Smith, a veteran Dry Dock manager, and Executive Chef Trae Peavey.
Tripletail’s menu will offer fresh, locally sourced fare from the seas, bays, ocean and shore. It will also serve favorites from restaurant sibling Dry Dock Waterfront Grill on Longboat Key and Gulf of Mexico-centric catches, according to a press release.
The cocktail lounge within the restaurant will serve classics as well as craft and signature cocktails. Tripletail diners will also be able to choose from a wine list of domestic and imported offerings.
Gecko’s Hospitality Group is locally owned and operated and employs over 600 Floridians. It was founded by Mike Gowan and Mike Quillen. Dry Dock Waterfront Grill joined the company in 2015. In 2016, Dockside Waterfront Grill in Venice became part of the company. The group includes nine restaurants along with the Red Barn Bar tavern.
