NAPLES — The Green Tree Shopping Center in Naples, at the intersection of Airport Road and Immokalee Road, is getting a major renovation.

A fresh coastal-contemporary design and open-air concept will replaced the former Mediterranean design, according to a statement from the landlord, Naples-based Crifasi Real Estate. That will help transform the property into more of a lifestyle center versus a traditional retail shopping center, the release adds. A total value for the project wasn’t disclosed. The project is expected to be completed later this year.

”The future of successful neighborhood shopping centers will be a variety of tenants with many different uses,” Jack Crifasi of Crifasi Real Estate says in the release. “Green Tree Center is a destination that is more conducive to the surrounding, upscale neighborhoods. We have been selective on the tenants, as we are looking for the right mix that not only benefits the ownership but also the current and future tenants as well.”

The tenant mix includes several restaurant spaces being, ranging from 3,000 to 5,000 square feet under air, coupled with an expanded outdoor dining area. Crifasi says there’s significant interest in the modernized 51,000-square-foot former Sweetbay grocery store space with various potential tenants; the space may also be divided. That space has been vacant for eight years.

Some of the property cosmetic updates include open aired gables, large outdoor cupolas, custom lighting, expanded tile walkways, fountains with torches and updated landscaping with flora throughout the property. The NCH Wellness Center located within the center is also going through a massive multimillion-dollar renovation to be completed in June 2021.  A 7-Eleven is being built on the parcel just off Green Tree Center on Airport Road, with an expected completion date in May. “The shopping center is beautiful and transformative, and it will become a destination point,” Crifasi says in the release.
