LUTZ — Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of North Tampa, a 50-bed inpatient rehabilitation facility under construction in Lutz, has named Jeff Alexander CEO.

The facility, at 3840 Atmore Grove Road, is expected to open for patient treatments in April.

In his new position, Alexander will oversee all patient care. He joins the North Tampa facility from Encompass Health’s rehabilitation hospital in Spring Hill, where he also worked as CEO for four years. Prior to Spring Hill, Alexander led a 34-bed, long-term acute care hospital in Kansas City, Mo., according to a statement.

“We’re very excited to have Jeff leading the team at our future, state-of-the-art hospital in Lutz,” says Lori Bedard, regional president of Encompass Health’s Southeast region, in the statement.

“He is a strong leader that is dedicated to high-quality care that truly makes a difference in the lives of our patients,” Bedard adds.

The Lutz facility will be Encompass Health’s 13th inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Florida, and one of 139th such hospitals throughout the U.S. In addition to its rehabilitation centers, the company operates 19 home health locations in the Sunshine State and has a hospital under construction in Pensacola. Nationwide, the company maintains 241 home health locations and 82 hospice facilities in 39 states and Puerto Rico.

In North Tampa, Encompass Health will provide 24-hour nursing care and physical, occupational and speech therapies to patients recovering from major illnesses and injuries including stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation and complex orthopedic conditions.
