SARASOTA — The second annual Voice + Visibility Women’s Summit, a virtual event designed to advance diverse female leadership, will be co-hosted by area attorney Christina Unkel.

Unkel is a Sarasota-based attorney with Maglio Christopher & Toale PA. Her practice focuses on complex commercial, business and construction litigation with a specialized focus in sports law.

Unkel is also the inaugural and previous CEO of the Women’s Sports Museum and a former FIFA and professional referee. She owns Scorch Fitness and the Deadlift Effect.

The Voice + Visibility Women’s Summit will launch Feb. 9 and run through March 9, according to a press release. After hosting the first summit as a live event in early 2020, the event has moved to a virtual platform in 2021 amid the pandemic.

Voice + Visibility Women’s Summit Founder Shannon Rohrer-Phillips will co-host the event with Unkel.

“This summit experience is for all women seeking inspiration, connection and career advancement," says Rohrer-Phillips in a statement. "Thanks to our sponsors and technology partners NexTech AR Solutions, all registered guests have a ticket that allows them to access the summit for 5 days and experience the program on their schedule.”

Rohrer-Phillips and Unkel recently filmed portions of the Voice + Visibility Women’s Summit program at the Sarasota Modern Hotel in collaboration with filmmaker Karen Arango.

(This story was updated to reflect Unkel's correct role with the Women’s Sports Museum.)
