CLEARWATER — AmeriLife Group, an insurance marketing and distribution firm, has tapped Jim Palmer to serve as president of its growing direct-to-consumer division.

In the newly created role, Palmer, according to a news release, will oversee the Clearwater firm’s national, direct-to-consumer platform that specializes in Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement solutions. The new division was formed in the wake of AmeriLife’s acquisition, in late 2020, of Senior Healthcare Direct and MACC Insurance Services. He will report to AmeriLife Chief Marketing Officer Ovi Vitas.

“I’m excited to join one of the largest insurance distributors in the country and help grow and expand its direct-to-consumer capabilities,” Palmer states in the release. “The direct-to-consumer space is rapidly growing and evolving, and I believe that AmeriLife is well positioned to capitalize on the growth opportunities across its multi-channel distribution network.”

Palmer, the release states, brings more than 20 years of insurance industry experience to AmeriLife, having served in senior roles at senior roles at Tampa-based TRANZACT and Carroll Enterprises Inc., headquartered in Worcester, Mass.
