Lender promotes official to larger role

Greg Barr has been with Lake Michigan Credit Union for five years.

FORT MYERS — Lake Michigan Credit Union has promoted Greg Barr to oversee the institution’s commercial lending team in Lee County.

Barr has been with Grand Rapids, Michigan-based LMCU since 2015, according to a statement, and brings more than 35 years of banking experience to his new role. Barr and his lending team specialize in complex commercial real estate development and construction loans including: retail, office, land development, small business, middle market commercial and industrial lending, the release states.

“This promotion is well-deserved recognition of Greg’s commercial lending expertise and leadership skills,” LMCU Southwest Florida Region President Tom Ray says in the statement. “He is one of our top loan producers and also has prior experience managing several high-performing lending teams. He has strong community ties and is well respected by his peers and the region’s business community.”

Lake Michigan Credit Union (LMCU) is the largest credit union in Michigan, with more than $9.6 billion in assets. It has 57 branch locations, including 13 in Southwest Florida. It acquired Encore Bank of Naples in 2017.
