BABCOCK RANCH — DeAngelis Diamond, one of the largest construction firms in the region, has been chosen to build the Babcock Neighborhood School High School, a 39,000-square-foot charter High School in Babcock Ranch.

The new high school will be connected to the existing Babcock Neighborhood School, which DeAngelis Diamond built in 2018, in conjunction with Studio+. The pair of firms will partner on the latest project, according to a statement. Highlighting flexible and adaptable spaces, the high school will feature 24 classrooms, academy support spaces, AICE labs and administrative support spaces, the release adds.

In addition to the high school, DeAngelis Diamond and Studio+ were recently awarded the new Southwest Florida Regional Emergency Shelter for the Babcock Ranch Community ISD. The new hurricane shelter and high school will be completed simultaneously with an estimated completion date of June 2022, the release states.

Founded in 1996, DeAngelis Diamond has grown from a single office in Naples to now seven locations throughout the Southeast and extending to the Midwest. It also does work in the Caribbean Islands. It posted $290 million in revenue in 2020.

A community in Charlotte and Lee counties billed as America’s first solar-powered town, Babcock Ranch began marketing new homes in 2017, with the first residents moving into the town in January 2018. The master plan includes 19,500 homes and six million square feet of commercial and community uses to accommodate an estimated population of 50,000.
