BRADENTON — Concrete contracting company Curbco Inc. has been sold to Seffner-based Cast-Crete, a portfolio company of Stonebridge Partners.

Aberdeen Advisors, a mergers and acquisitions firm based in St. Petersburg, led the sale, according to a press release.

Bradenton-based Curbco was founded by Jim Kersey more than 30 years ago. It specializes in concrete curbing, sidewalks, driveways and parking lots. The company works with general contractors, excavators and developers across Manatee and Sarasota counties.

“I am delighted that Cast-Crete purchased Curbco,” says Kersey in a statement. “Aberdeen Advisors found the perfect buyer for my business. The acquisition will allow me to retire within a reasonable timeframe while giving my team, including my sons, an opportunity to remain with the business and reap the rewards of accelerated future growth.”

Aberdeen Advisors specializes in sell-side transactions and represents companies across all industries, with revenues from $5 million to greater than $100 million.

“From his team of dedicated employees to his longevity in the marketplace, Jim built a first-class company,” says Emery Ellinger, CEO of Aberdeen Advisors, in a statement. “We were thrilled to represent Curbco and, ultimately, find the right buyer to help Jim transition into retirement.”
