JetBlue is expanding service from the New York City region to multiple Florida markets over the peak Thanksgiving weekend, including additional flights from Newark, N.J. to Tampa and Fort Myers.

The airline is adding 25 flights between Nov. 20th and Nov. 30th, part of a strategy to add capacity in routes with strong potential for leisure demand, according to a statement. Other destinations getting additional flights to Metro New York include Orlando and Fort Lauderdale, the release adds, along with international airports in Port-au-Prince, San Juan, Santiago and Santo Domingo.

“As we head toward the holidays, we’re seeing signs of strong demand in certain markets,” JetBlue head of revenue and planning Scott Laurence says in the release. “To help get more customers to their destinations and capture more revenue during this important time of year, we are adding additional flights over Thanksgiving weekend.”

The announcement for additional New York area flying comes after the airline revealed a lineup of over 60 new routes this year, including new nonstop destinations and expanded Mint service in Newark and Los Angeles.
