Company offers hurricane protection systems for nurses

Storm Smart announced the initiative May 12, Nurses Day.

FORT MYERS — Storm Smart, one of the largest manufacturers and installers of code-approved hurricane protection products in the state, has a new program to support front line health care workers.

The company , according to a statement, intends to donate a whole-home hurricane protection system each month during hurricane season to a local nurse through its “We Care” Program. The company, the release adds, says, “providing these state-of-the-art systems to nurses is Storm Smart’s way of saying “thank you” for the resilience, courage and tireless efforts of nurses across the region.”

The company announced the initiative May 12, Nurses Day. “Giving back to our community is an important core value of Storm Smart, and we are always looking for additional ways to support those in need,” says Executive Chairman Brian Rist in the statement. “What better way to honor our those on the front line of health care, than to celebrate National Nurses Day through our We Care Program and use those donations to protect those who have protected us throughout this pandemic.”
